Blackheart Sassfras set of nine boards with startling " Spalting ".
These amazing boards are all from the same salvaged log.
When the tree is alive water which stains it runs through the trunk but once it is dead and down on the ground, the water begins to draw the most amazing " Artwork " into the grain !
The longer the tree is on the ground the more Spalting/Artwork takes place, if left too long the tree will then completely rot away to nothing useful, so timing is everything in finding this amazing timber.
There are nine boards here each measuring : 950 mm long x 140 mm wide x 25 mm thick
