A beautiful matching pair of unique Huon Pine Slabs cut from a Stump originally from a tree cut down by Convicts in the Gordon River area of western Tasmania.
The Huon in these two is over 900 years of age, the stump has been in the wilderness for an estimated 180 years until found recently by the last ( now retired ), licensed Tasmanian Huon logging contractor.
There are a couple more of these from the same Stump in stock for a serious enquirer.
We have added a photo of a Huon carving we have, showing a little of how the Convicts cut down a tree with axes, and the pointed end of these Slabs demonstrates where they used this method.
Each Slab measures 1.5 metres long x 650 mm wide x 40 mm thick sanded both sides.
They are $ 600 each including GST we would prefer to sell them as a Set, delivery can be arranged.
